This policy explains how Khadayata collects, uses, and safeguards your personal information when you use our community portal and mobile app.

Information We Collect

When you register and use Khadayata, we collect the following categories of information:

Personal Information

Full name, email address, and phone number (required at registration)
Gender and city (collected to support matrimony and community features)
Profile photo (optional, uploaded by you)
Membership or Ekda ID assigned to your account

Financial Information

Donation and payment records - transaction amounts, dates, and reference IDs
We do not store card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials; these are handled directly by Razorpay

Photos and Media

Profile photos and matrimony profile images you choose to upload

App and Device Information

Crash logs collected automatically to help us diagnose and fix app issues
Device identifiers used to deliver push notifications (only if you permit notifications)

How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your Khadayata account and member profile
To operate community features: committees, discussions, events, business directory, and blood donor listings
To provide matrimony profile matching within the community
To process donations and issue receipts
To send push notifications about community updates (only if you opt in)
To diagnose app crashes and improve app stability
To comply with Indian financial and tax regulations for donation records

Information Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We work with the following service providers who process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations:

Supabase - cloud database and authentication infrastructure
Razorpay - payment processing for donations (they handle card data directly; we only receive the resulting transaction record)
Expo / EAS - mobile app build and push notification delivery

Your profile information (name, matrimony details) is visible to other verified Khadayata members within the portal as part of the community features you choose to use.

Data Security & Retention

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We store your data securely on Supabase's infrastructure hosted on AWS.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion:

Your profile, photos, matrimony listing, connections, and authentication data are permanently deleted within 30 days
Donation records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by Indian financial and tax regulations - your name on official receipts is preserved, but your account is deleted
Anonymised event attendance data may be retained for community reporting

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings
